Focusrite Novation Inc. (‘FNI’) is actively seeking a New York based Product Specialist for the North Eastern United States. The FNI Technical Pre Sales Specialist will be responsible for being the face, eyes, ears and mouth for FNI in the field. This includes keeping track of and reporting trends in the MI sales channel, making sure that Focusrite and Novation products are stocked and displayed properly by our sales partners, and training both dealers and potential customers on what Focusrite and Novation products are, what they do, and who they are for and why. The vast majority of our sales partners and the public will never come in to physical contact with an FNI representative outside of our Technical Pre Sales Specialist, so it’s imperative that the candidate represents FNI on the highest level possible. The ideal candidate will have an engaging personality with infectious enthusiasm for recording and music creation technology products as well as the entire creative music and recording production process.  

This key position will also interface with the US sales, marketing, and product teams. This position reports to the Director of Sales.

Core Responsibilities

  • Maintain and create new interest in Focusrite and Novation and our products in the field
  • Identify trends and potential problems or issues in the field
  • Communicate meaningful and useable information from the field to FNI
  • Advance FNI’s Sales and Marketing agendas in the field at the “ground level”
  • Train dealers, staff, and end users on the understanding and use of Focusrite and Novation products
  • Provide dealers and staff with sales techniques and tools to sell Focusrite and Novation products
  • Collaborate with dealers and staff (sales, marketing, and technical support) to optimize the customer relationships
  • Attend national and regional trade shows
  • Travel to key accounts, resellers, and customers

  • Possess strong technical capacity
  • Understanding of high performance audio for recording and production
  • Knowledge of Music Recording
  • Knowledge of Electronic Music making
  • Advanced knowledge of all popular DAWs (with an emphasis on Ableton Live and Pro Tools)
  • Advanced knowledge of MIDI, MIDI controllers, audio interfaces, home/studio recording setups and music production
  • Functioning knowledge of Apple and Windows OS
  • Functioning knowledge of MS Office Suite and Google suites
  • A lover of music
  • Ability to lift and transport heavy demo equipment up to 75 lbs.
  • Travel approximately 50% of the time
  • Must be currently eligible to work in the United States
  • High School graduate with an Associates college degree (at minimum)
  • Have a valid drivers license and clean driving record 

This is an exempt, full-time position. Commensurate with experience, compensation includes base salary plus commission. Medical, dental, and retirement benefits are available.
